  • After talking with a friend, finding out he home brews, and thinking about it a bit, I started looking into it. Researched what I would need for hardware/gear to get started. Checked out a place close to where I live (under a mile) but they were more of just a place to brew (more for groups and such with no hardware of their own). Found a true LHBS not that far away and picked up my first hardware kit and recipe (extract Honey Porter). Went back a couple of days later and got another kit (amber ale) and more hardware. Went through those two brews to bottling, and decided that I needed to brew more. Had already started the mead batches by that time. Getting into partial grain, and full/all grain brewing over the coming couple of brewings. Looking to go with the lower end of hardware for now, but see that I'll be getting better gear before the end of 2011.rnrnHope to reach 'critical mass' soon, so that I'll always have beer on hand to drink.
