think many people have tried this clone yet.

  • Posted in thread: Help a newbie out... Can I use a garden hose instead of plastic tube? on 12-03-2007 at 03:48 AM
Food grade is okay definitely but the garden hose is a definite no go, especially if other
people are drinking it as well. Hoses for this are pretty cheap and easy to find.

I know Mr. Beer gets a lot of (deservedly) negative press but it's great for the hobby allowing
a low barrier of entrance for newcomers to learn with.

I think this varies quite a bit but I think most probably still drink others besides their own.
It's fun to critique them as you knowledge (and palate) grow.

Sounds like a great time and a good group of brewers to be so generous. Not sure if they're all
as welcoming (judging from some not all are like this) but you're lucky to have stumbled upon
    some good ...

I too am getting into brewing more and more (am new to the site as well) and am interested in
hearing some suggestions on a "broad" beer as well.

  • Posted in thread: 60 degrees too low to ferment? on 12-03-2007 at 03:34 AM
60 is just on the low end of the "ideal" range for Ales. Some like it a bit warmer but you
might be able to just crack the door open and get the temperature right in those rare cases.
