    ABOUT ME

  • I'm just getting into the home brewing hobby and can't wait to try more elaborate recipes. The interest started when a friend of mine and i started talking about it a few months ago. Unbeknownst to my wife she got it as a joke gift since we've been watching a lot of moonshiners on discovery. She doesn't view it that way anymore.

This is actually going to be a nice break from my more geeky side. During the day i manage a team of computer technicians and have regular video game nights. (looking to make that special video gamers brew also)

I'm also involved as a deacon in my local church as well as leading the youth group. not all of us hate beer and alcohol.

Can't wait to become more a part of this friendly community here.

  • I got into home brewing by talking about it with a friend of mine. he's looking into building a more elaborate rig. For now i'm using the Mr. Beer kit my wife got me for Christmas. It takes me a while to finish off even a 6 pack so i don't think i'm ready for a 5 gallon build yet. But my friend and I are planning a brewing day so i'm sure then we'll go big.
  • I have a few that i want to try:
    a chocolate stout
    something like a newcastle
    a darker beer like guiness
a gaming beer, not sure what that is yet
  • i'll be bottling my first pale ale in about a week.

That would blow, any particular reason why clear bottles would be taboo? I know that the brown
ones don't let in as much light, which is why i plan on storing them in the basement. I'm new
    to this and...
