  • Went up to Milwaukee for Valentine's Day 2009 with my girlfriend, and two of our friends. My lady and I aren't really into the big V-Day thing, so we went up there to do a couple brewery tours--Lakefront Brewery and Sprecher. Both were awesome. But while the over-sized bearded suspenders AND belt wearing brewmaster was taking us on the tour, he singled me out saying, "Anybody could do my job, including this guy!" Well, that got me thinking. Within three weeks I had purchased my equipment, a couple kits, and it all went downhill (or uphill, depending on how you look at it) from there.

    Current Setup:
9 gallon stainless steel kettle with temperature probe and ball valve
6 gallon secondary kettle (used for heating sparge water)
    10 gallon Rubbermaid converted MLT
    Home made copper immersion chiller
    2 6.5 gallon glass carboys
    3 Ale Pails
Mini fridge kegerator with 1 Perlick faucet - can possible get a second in there.

dishwasher, run on high with no dishwasher detergent. Have not had a problem yet.
