  • I'm an over weight guy that works out like a mad man just so I can enjoy my beer without getting any bigger. I run marathons (that's a 26.2 mile running race for those that don't know) and I'm also a Triathlite.

  • My first ever taste of homebrew was on my honeymoon The chef at the winery that we stayed at had some of his beer on tap. I loved it. Then a week later a buddy and I went to a beer expo and there was a homebrew club there serving their beer. It was the best beer I had that whole night. From then on I wanted to brew. It was less then two weeks later that I brewed my first beer a BB extract kit. A month later I had 3 of those kits down and went on to 10 gallon AG brews and never looked back.

I use that same one. Works well. I drilled a hole about the 2.5 gal mark for a "weldless"
racking port and went with 2" TC butterfly valve for the dump.I then mounted it to a wood
    platform with 10" wh...

I can tell you right now that the ball valve you have on there will not work. I have a 1.5
valve on one and a 2 inch on the other and they both can plug easily if I wait to long to dump.
    I would never...

I think I got to sample that Alt off the tap they brought. No you didn't.. He did not bring it
because it was all gone.I "heard" that my IIPA took 3rd in the best of show. Wish I could have

Every comp I have judged in I have never seen the sheet filled out by the brewer.I would not
even worry about it. An IPA does not have to be sharp in the bitterness just needs to have a
    malt/hop balan...

I was going to bring a Northern German Alt and an Oatmeal Stout but I think I'll just bring the
stout. The Alt is for this months PTB meeting comp.

I need to update my profile and get everything up to date. As you know, I am a little behind on this online socializing but I am willing to do anything for beer.

Hey Congrats on the barlywine 1st place. I may have a hard time getting to the meetings the next few months as my drivers licence is restricted for 90 days do to a driving while impared conviction that I got after I totaled out my car after the cider comp. in December. IM trying to conect with some Muskegon area brewers and invite them to a meeting so they could give me a ride.
