You'll definitely get plenty of good roasted flavor with 1lb. I bet it'll turn out really good.
I've never used coffee malt but it sounds delicious!

I just brewed an imperial stout with 1.5lbs roasted barley and it has a lot of roast malt
flavor. Not excessive but I wouldn't do more on my next batch. 2lbs of rb and 2lbs of 160l
seems like a lot.

My last 2 IPA brews have been MUCH better than previous attempts. That "off flavor" has not

I think you would enter the rye as a "base malt". I brewed this on Saturday and added 5grams
gypsum to the mash and 4 to the sparge water. Didn't have time for a starter so pitched 2

Brewing a Black rye ipa tomorrow and plan on doing some water adjustments. Plugging my
ingredients into brun water. Is rye malt considered base, crystal or roast malt??
