  • Posted in thread: can you lose overall batch volume when using a blowoff tube on 09-11-2014 at 01:03 AM
Some people run a tube into a small sanitized container from the fermenter and run a tube from
the top of that to a blowoff. After high krausen you can dump it back down the tube into the
    fermenter. L...

    already carbed.

Woah, 7 weeks? I go 2-3 weeks max boil-drinking. Oxygen will have an affect as well as time. I
push to my purged kegs with the dry hops in them from the fermenter with co2, better bottle
    with elbow ad...

With all those recipe differences and a similar flavor, I'd look at your water and fermentation
temperature. Try bottled or reverse osmosis water, google fermenter swamp cooler.

  • Posted in thread: Will Green Apple Flavor "Age Out?" on 07-30-2014 at 06:12 PM
Acetaldehyde should be metabolized by the yeast if kept warm, but this sounds like esters from
high fermentation temps. They will age out somewhat, but so will your hop flavors. I might
    taste like str...
