I'd keep it and use it too. I'd also recommend using an anti foam drop next time in each wort
addition to prevent the krausen issue from happening again.

I guess this has only ever happened to me! ;)

  • Posted in thread: Airlock vs foil on 03-18-2013 at 10:50 PM
You're trying to multiply your yeast which means the yeast need oxygen. So you should be using
foil to allow a two-way exchange of air, or a foam stopper. Your airlock will prevent air from
    getting in...

I brewed the Bee Cave Hefe recipe posted by EdWort and everything went well with all the
targets hit exactly, except SG was at 1.051 instead of 52. I made a 800 ml starter with WLP 300

  • Posted in thread: What's the worst craft brew (commercial) you've had? on 03-04-2013 at 06:04 PM
Rogue Voodoo Doughnuts Maple Bacon. I took a sip and gagged. I handed it to my buddy. He took a
sip, gagged. Then we proceeded to pour the glass and the rest of the 22oz bottle in the sink.
    Holy crap....

Sure do wish I had a way to get that to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho!

  • Posted in thread: Is this the result of a poor cold break? on 01-13-2011 at 03:06 PM
If you're keeping the temperature of the carboy is 68-70F then the wort is higher than that.
This high fermentation could be the most likely culprit of that flavor, because I've had the
    same issue wit...

Hi Jay, just a thought, but conditioning in bottle tends to move much more slowly at lower
temps. Since it's currently taking your beer in bottle 8 weeks to even out (2 weeks around room
    temp + 6 week...

I wish I was close! Isn't there a local brew near you to give you a hand?I think there is a
brew club locally, but I haven't gone to them yet since I recently moved to the area. I have
    been kicking it...
