If it took a 1.065 OG stout 7 days to finish to 1.014, why should it only take 5 days for a
1.063 OG beer to reach 1.012? And if it is actively fermenting, with high krausen, why would
    you need to "ge...

I've left oxiclean in carboys a couple of times and I get the same problem. Just leaving them
overnight is long enough to develop deposits all over the place. Try cleaning it with vinegar,

  • Posted in thread: Chill I not cooling too fast?? on 01-05-2010 at 05:30 AM
Not getting a good cold break is where chill haze comes from. So if it is taking you too long
to cool your wort, then that is the reason. I use an immersion chiller down to about 90-100,
    and then star...

  • Posted in thread: Does everyone rack to secondary?? on 10-02-2008 at 09:17 PM
I rarely do a secondary. If I wanted to long term age something, I will use a secondary. Most
of my beers are 2-4 weeks, then crash cooled and kegged like EdWort.

By the way I picked up a six pack of Pliny a while ago, and should be able to get some more to
send out. I promised I would ship some to those who want it, I have just been busy finding a
