  • I started brewing in August of 2009. The first batch I brewed was an extract plus steeping grains from Homebrewers Outpost and I fell in love with the Hobby. I then found the LHBS and made 3 of my own extract/specialty grain recipes. In December I took the step to all grain and have been brewing about 2 batches a month so far.

I learned to brew 25% from Palmer and 75% from this site. I have been frequenting this site for months and finally decided to step up and get the subscription so I can give back to the community. I cant give you guys enough thanks, this is an awesome resource.

I have been to two of these places in CA and think them quite mediocre. Imho, the beers of
theirs that I have tried to me represent bland examples of craft beers geared towards pleasing
    the masses. No...

Two best spots are Max's in Fells Point and Alewife over by the Hippodrome. Both a short cab
    ride from the harbor.

Yea, I was shooting for the lower end of the BJCP style which is 1.008, so it will be a little
dryer than normal for the style. Sample tasted really good though so I am hopeful. It was in
    primary for ...

Belgian Tripel transfered to secondary today. Gravity is 1.005, OG was 1.080... That is 92%
attenuation, crazy. I used WLP500 Trappist Ale Yeast. Fermentables were 12 lbs of pilsener malt
    and 3 lbs of...

I just had one last week. It was fantastic. Light colored, nice and cloudy, thick, very
hoppy... and with a cool story on the back.
