I don't know what it is I do, but with any yeast i've used, and 1056 is definitely used most
often, even if I throw one in the freezer for a quick chill (and having put in the minimum time

I had this same problem but finally found the fix....dump the Miller down the toilet and
replace with beer. Tastes great and no problems since then ;)
