I walked into Coronado in North Park a few months ago at random and they had it on tap. If not
head next door to Coin-Op and play some sweet video games. For breweries I went to Stone in
    Escondido, an...

  • Posted in thread: Wyeast forbidden fruits nearly no carbonation on 07-08-2016 at 11:10 PM
Yes, high ABV beers generally take much longer to carbonate. Anything over 7% at my house
generally took a lot longer than 3 weeks. My big barleywine took almost 3 months to carb up to
    expected levels...

I wasn't able to run my immersion chiller for over an hour after flame out so my 5-minute hop
addition (1 oz Fuggles) sat in near-boiling temp wort with the lid on for 65 minutes. What can
    I expect?I ...

  • Posted in thread: Does anyone else dislike US-05? on 06-23-2016 at 11:12 PM
A follow up that coincides with some of the observations here: I fermented with US-05 at 68
for 3 days then raised to 72 until the yeast dropped on my RyePA. No off flavors and the hops
    are blasting...

A nice cup of locally roasted coffee. Rocking out to Incubus, too. So far it's been a good

I used glass for a long time without issue but then one day Midwest sent me an email with a
deal on 4 big mouth bubblers and I bit. Never going back.I've had no weird flavors, cleaning is
    so easy, and...

Brulosopher played with sparge tempsGranted he did the opposite with a cold sparge. I'd be
interested to see your results of a "too hot" sparge to see if the dreaded extracted tannins
    are to be dreade...
