Mashing at 152 would give you a dryer end fg. Are you sure your readings are corrected for 60f?

What was your mash temp? You may have mashed too high. Did you aerate the cooled wort? Lager
yeast needs more o2 than ale. Did u use any carapills or other dextrine malts?

Just get the five gal paint strainers from your local home improvement store. They are fine
enough. Double bagging isn't a bad idea especially since they come in two packs.

If your messing with pH you need a water report and pH paper or a pH meter to make any proper
adjustments. Also watch the YouTube john palmer videos on water.

If your concerned about efficiency mash out by raising the grain temp to 170 and hold for 10
min before pulling the bag. Sparge with water at 170f as well.
