- Home brewer and brewing blogger: beer, mead, wine, even cordials when I must. Very interested in brewing history and paleoarchaeology.
-
Besides home brewing and
blogging about it,Im very active in the Society for Creative Anachronism - Proposal manager
- Started making meads more than 20 years ago, beers about 7 years ago, and wines last year. I compete nationally in AHA sanctioned events and in the SCA. I write about historical brewing in SCA publications and paid periodicals. My setup is really basic and driven by being a not-very-large woman, however sturdy. I brew all-grain and extract beers, both, and I love braggots. Not a fan of American hops starting with 'C', or the current American trend for more hoppiness. My tastes run from nut browns and English ales all the way to Ommegang Adoration and Guinness Extra Stout. I love the Dogfish Head Ancient Ales - Dr. McGovern was a hero of mine long before he met Sam!
- Next up: citrusy wittebrew - I keep this info current on my blog. I'll never manage to update two places!
