Guys:Quick update. I veered off course with the beer I'm brewing this weekend. I lightened the
beer up to the mid 7's SRM and added a little Citra in the flavor to compliment the Amarillo (a
    great com...

Redbone - no issues here. I just know that talking to the brewery, unless you are a beautiful
Russian spy who can bed the Head Brewer, is almost always a waste of time. I swear they do more
    to throw y...

Sleepyemt - a friend told me about this info today. You are correct: down to Sweetwater's

Thanks Sleepyemt. I have to look at the recipe again. If I bump my honey up to 1.50 lb. I get
1.087 OG. Also, why not use Chinook in there? It is known to have a grapefruit aroma. I'm
    thinking if I go...

The problem is the 1.084 OG and the 1.012 FG. To get there I think you need a lower mash temp.
Of course the yeast strain could help alot too. We should do several brews with 152, 155 or
    higher and ch...

Ok guys I have the recipe I'm going to make in two weeks. I met with a Master Brewer and a Brew
Shop owner (who is familiar with the brewers at Bells) who both make me feel inadequate when
    discussing ...

Sleepyemt, what honey did you use? The more I think about it I might bump the honey to 2 lbs.
as a compromise between our recipes. In addition, tomorrow I'm visiting a brewer with some
    experience succ...
