  • Posted in thread: How's this reciepe? on 11-07-2009 at 03:56 PM
I'm definitely leaning more toward a wine with this batch. Just because I get a really really
bad hangover with the sweet stuff. My roommate likes it but I'm just not a big fan, the home
    brew store is...

Not my first time making cider, but nearly. So here's a few questions I have yet to get a clear
answer on. I bought 5 gallons of fresh pressed cider (3 Fuji 2 Granny Smith) from my homebrew
    store. My ...

  • Posted in thread: Carbonated in fermenter... what now? on 10-25-2009 at 12:02 AM
Well, I accidentally put too much water in the pan I used as a blowoff valve. And it looks like
the gas couldn't escape so my cider is now carbonated. It was bubbling along for 3 or 4 days
    before and ...

  • Posted in thread: What is this yeast and will it work for cider? on 10-22-2009 at 01:49 AM
Well, the airlock is bubbling away happily at around 62 degrees. I guess I'll check it out in a
few days and see how it's doing.

Not sure if this helps at all but I took a picture of the package. I'm assuming it's just a
no-name dry ale yeast. Well, it'll be interesting to see how it turns out!

Hmm, yeah I feared the pickle smell would be unbeatable. I'll head to the Acme bakery this
afternoon and see what they have, icing and the like would be considerably easier to get out
    (and at the end ...

I stumbled across International Pickle Bucket Rescue League. I guess this is how pickles are
delivered to most burger joints/greasy spoon restaurants. I haven't attempted to clean these
    out yet, and I...

You don't have to look too hard to find cider mills in michigan who are proud to list their
apples. can't speak for the Dexter Cider Mill because I haven't been out that way since I was
    really reall...

Well, I just re-hydrated it and tossed it in to 2.5 gallons of Acme Cider. It's pasteurized but
the only preservatives in it is Vitamin C (I read somewhere that this is OK?). I'll snap a
    couple pictur...

Hate to sound like a broken record but I googled "Homebrew Forum"

FORUM SIGNATURE
In Primary - Basic hard cider - from pasteurized store-bought cider and mystery ale yeast. In Secondary - Plain American Ale, and yes it's to try and get my significant other interested in home brewing =) Bottles - air, waiting patiently to be filled with some American Ale.
