  My thermowell is made out of a keg dip tube with the end soldered shut. Cost about $5.Before
  that i used a racking cane with the end melted shut.Cool. Thanks

  Anyone just use the female end of the extension cord for the heat outlet?You can do that. It's
  just a little neater and safer to have it in a box. It will still work just as well though.
  Cheaper too.
