  • Started in 1990 trying to clone Sam Adams, fairly successfully given the limited equipment and ingredients I had at the time. Been doing it on and off since, and now am moving into all grain. Working to have a pico brewery in the basement, and make not just good, but great beer.

    For my lager starters, I ferment the starter at the same initial temp as the main beer, usually
    48-56 degF. A good lager yeast will get a nice kruesen on it and you pitch it when it gets to
