  • I'm nothing to look at. Just a regular guy, ex-husband, father of two girls, teens, working too much, needing to do too much, great girl friend, down to one dog and trying to be down to no cats (unsuccessful thus far).rn I have been teaching since the late 70's, became a chiropractor in the 90's and still do both. I'd love to be back full time teaching with a bit of land, a large garden, a small building dedicated to brewing, cooking and food storage, a home swimming pool, and a riding lawn mower. Always wanted a riding lawn mower. And maybe a couple of cows, a couple of pigs, some chickens and a smart dog.rn I enjoy a couple of beers a day (a bit more on weekends), a couple of smokes a day, 3 - 4 good hard workouts per week (had to quit playing racquetball - it was breaking me down), cooking meats various ways but like the veggies better and am a true carb lover. Starches rock! But then, so does gravy. OK, food rocks.rn I can keep it under 200 if I try or get sick. I

  • Chiropractor and instructor at a local Community College
  • That which I like.
  • Those I can watch over and over again; too many to name. No true favorite really. No comedies either.
  • TV? Ok, Jon Stewart and Steven Colbert. All science TV, travel TV and food shows. What a geek!
  • Those that I am willing to read a bit over two pages at a time per day.
  • I love beer. Nice to be able to make that which tastes great. I had looked into getting into it in the 80's but just didn't get around to it. Last year my nieces husband's father mentioned that he had brewed some beer so I looked into it again and found the inevitable Mr Beer and tried it. Loving it ever since.rnrnPast and current recipes are too many to list here. I keep a personal blog in case I lose my log book. Still only extracts and, of course, meads, but planning on moving to grains soon. Here's the blog:
  • Many things, mostly beers. But also a couple more meads; one traditional and one apricot melomel.
  • A rich Barley Wine made with 9lbs Maris Otter extract and fermenting with WLP-090, San Diego Super Yeast
  • All meads; JAOM, traditional Huckleberry, pineapple/mango melomel and a blackberry/blue berry melomel. Beer - Hop Scare IPA which has also been dry hopped with two oz cascade and 2 oz galena.
  • A lot. Aging now. Priors - 5 Ales, 2 Reds, 1 Barley Wine, 1 Wheat(hated it), 4 IPA's, 2 Stouts, and 1 Cider(about 7mo old now).
  • And IPA and an ALE(Coopers). Currently have the HopScare IPA in the keg as secondary and am drinking an English Bitter in a keg. (It makes a nice black and tan with Guiness)

Well, if you add sugar, I would add some fresh yeast as well. It should carb up then, though
make sure to use less sugar than you would naturally carbonating in bottles (use a calculator.
    Please.). Ho...

up much more than a puff when tested. Its a fairly heavy clone of a local brew called the
    Velvet Hammer. ...
