  • Ever since I was a kid I had always had an interest in how brewers and distillers made alcohol. This curiosity as only fueled by the fact that I grew up in rural North Carolina. When I came of age I decided that brewing was something that I would like to try and so I bought a Mr. Beer kit (the cheapest one). I enjoyed the experience of making the beer that came with the kit, but didn't feel that the kit really gave me the full experience and control over the finished product that I would have liked. So I spent about five times more money and got myself a Brewers Best kit, which is what I currently am using. My first batch just finished priming on Jan. 20th 2011 and I am quite pleased with it. It was a Brewers Best American Light, I added some baked apples with brown sugar and cinnamon in the hopes that I could give the beer a more seasonally appropriate flavor. The final product was a good beer if i say so myself (others who have sampled it for me agree), but it didn't have the appl
