  • Started Home brewing in 1981 after 3 failed attempts to make wine. There was a little tiny Home Brew shop around the corner and they had one book back then about home brewing. I followed the instructions using "Blue Ribbon" malt & lots sugar and made Horrible beer 3 times. I almost gave up but after consulting the more experienced people I finally made something drinkable and off I went head over heels into the sport! Ive Won many awards including AHA Silvers many times. But hung it all up in 1997 to have a baby. She's 14 now and Im back in full bore! Bring on the competition

No, it's not for setting the grain bed or skipping a vorlauf. The grant allows the lauter tun
to drain slowly (by gravity only) and not be pumped thru a choked down valve to the BK.

Probably not a big deal at all. But you might want to know whats in the water your adding this
to in the first place. If the Calcium was high already, adding more might be causing a problem.

I would try fermenting at a lower temp. Not sure if your beer is staying at 68 or rising up as
the kinetic activity produces heat. Try dropping the ferment to 65 or 66`f
