    ABOUT ME

  • I'm an avid 'Good Eats' fan. Alton Brown did a show on making your own beer. I watched it, thought it was cool and then wanted to try it. Never did. It came on a re-run one day, watched, wanted to try it. Never did. It came on a re-run one day, watched, wanted to try it. Finally did. I'm hooked.

    Biggest reason I wanted to do it was to brew my favorite beer, Tucher, because it was 1)Hard to find and 2)Pricey. Did three batches as extract brewing then took the plunge into all grain. I have done about 30 or so batches in the last couple years. I don't drink much of it to be honest. I love beer but I enjoy it more when I hand someone a homebrew and they say 'Yeah, a guy I knew gave me a beer he made once and it tasted like crap.' I tell them to give me the benefit of the doubt. They try it. Then they say, simply, 'Wow'.

    I hate crazy bitter beers. An IBU of about 30 is all that I can stand.
