  • I started brewing young. In 11th grade, I was researching a paper on King Arthur, and found a website detailing the method to make mead. I was in love. Two of my friends joined in with me and we started brewing with a simple kit with 5 gallon glass carboys. When college came around, we went our separate ways, and brewing went on hiatus.rnrnNow, twelve years since I last brewed, I have finally gotten a house with a basement for brewing, and I am back in the saddle. My brother and I have our first batch in primary, and will bottle just after Labor Day.rnrnMy love of beer has done nothing but grow. Living in Michigan, the self-proclaimed "Great Beer State" has its advantages. With 92+ breweries in the state, and three very good brew stores within 20 miles, I am very lucky.rnrnLift a glass with me; I am thirsty.

educate other engineers:"What type of liquor do you add to it to make it alcoholic?"My natural
    response was...
