    My first batch after a long break.... Does Star San go bad? I am about to transfer to secondary
    and I found the top had a film on it. It might be yeast? The beer smells great. Thanks for the

    ... it looks like trouble. opened it up to add priming sugar and had a not so nice surprise.
    :mad:so is it infected? smells like it did before this 'layer' appeared. i guess im going to
    bottle anyway...

    i recently brewed a new castle clone as well and it has an 'off flavor' too. my best shot at
    describing it is a touch metallic in flavor. not overwhelming, but it shouldn'tu be there?
