Kai's kit prices are quite reasonable for what you get. It's all the little details and the 150
or so trips to the store for small parts, and the hours on the internet trying to figure out
what you ne...Posted in thread: Paint strainer bag for transfering beer on 03-22-2013 at 03:27 PM
A paint strainer bag is fine for filtering, but as stated, only when you plan to introduce
oxygen. They work well as dry hopping bags as well, and in that case you are not pouring beer

The "Blichmann" burner is just a banjo burner in a fancier frame than the Bayou Classic

After using a number of pumps from small "pond pumps" like in the links above (useless) to the
current 1/2HP submersible from Harbor Freight, I can definitely tell you that bigger is better
and the li...Posted in thread: Tandem Therminator Plate Chillers on 10-25-2012 at 01:35 PM
I've been using twin plate chillers for years now due to the hot ground water in Florida most
of the year. The first one uses tap water, and the second is fed by a 1/2hp submersible pump in
a ice wate...Posted in thread: Conical Vs Keg fermenter on 10-23-2012 at 05:29 PM
I am surprised by the fact that not a lot of people talk about 15 gallon cornies. The thing is
sweet. I'd choose it any day over a plastic conical. It's even cheaper than a mini-brew.If
you're a kegge...
