I would suggest starting out by getting a cheap pyschometer and dialing in the gas pressure
before you do anything else.

I would start b making sure the pilot has the correct pressure coming out. Too much or too
little will make it go out.

You connect the PID output to the thermostat connections to control the on off cycle.
