I thought it was about finished until I opened it tonight to take a gravity reading and saw the
krausen on top.Posted in thread: No action in the airlock on 03-08-2013 at 12:49 AM
I guess my next question is should I plan on waiting a couple more weeks before bottling. I
know I'll need to check the gravity, but I don't want to open my bucket any more than
necessary.Posted in thread: No action in the airlock on 03-07-2013 at 11:27 PM
So I opened my bucket to take a gravity reading since tomorrow will be two weeks an was
surprised to see this. 105988And I thought I might be bottling this weekend. Haha.Posted in thread: No action in the airlock on 02-26-2013 at 11:45 PM
Don't do this, you'll (probably) regret doing it.1. Hops don't like light2. Glass shatters3.
Buckets have handles...The list goes onJust get through your first few batches, and you'll be
confident eno...Posted in thread: No action in the airlock on 02-26-2013 at 01:12 AM
It smelled pretty good when I opened the bucket. Since its only my second batch I don't know
what to look for. Thanks for all the advice.Posted in thread: No action in the airlock on 02-26-2013 at 12:58 AM
Cool. I avoided taking the lid off till tonight because I know that it can take a while for the
yeast to take off. I'm guessing my bucket isn't airtight. I need to get a carboy so I can see
everything...Posted in thread: No action in the airlock on 02-26-2013 at 12:39 AM
I don't remember what type of yeast they sent. It was their standard dry yeast. I pitched it at
76 which was higher than I intended. It has be sitting at about 68-69 since.Posted in thread: No action in the airlock on 02-26-2013 at 12:17 AM
I accidentally posted before I was finished. Should I repitch the yeast or just wait longer?Posted in thread: No action in the airlock on 02-26-2013 at 12:16 AM
I'm 70 hours into fermentation and I haven't seen a bubble in the airlock yet. I'm brewing
midwest's Irish stout. I took a picture and attached it below. 103868Posted in thread: Off flavor on 02-23-2013 at 02:13 AM
I tasted another bottle last night and the off flavor is going away. I'm guessing it was just
really green.
