Hefe usually produces banana and clove flavors. Were they still present at the low ferm temps?

I know what Dave means. We tried the Franziskaner Weissbier,& it didn't seem to have the fruity
esters usually associated with the style. Just a clean,naturally slight sweetness from the

How do you know how much sugar to add at bottling? If its a stout, how much? A porter? An IPA?
And so forth. Is there a way to tell? FG maybe? Because 4 1/2 oz can't be right for all beers.
