  • Been home brewing for about 10 years. Mostly extract brewing. I would do 1-2 five gallon batches per year, usually in the late winter early spring. Migrated to all grain in 2011. Using the BIAB method with a cut down 15.5 gallon keg, propane cooker and a homade wort chiller.rnThis year I have really taken to home brewing more than ever. 4 beer brews a cider and 2 attempts at lemon/limeade. Never could get a good fermentation going. rnI have tried light ales to dark ales and IPA's. Only 1 batch had any issues, no fermentation. I contributed this to forgetting to rinse the bleach solution from the fermenter. Now I use Star-san and no more issues.rnBuilding a E-Herms system. Hope to have operational in March 2012. My E-Herms system is up and operational. The system works great. I'm making minor tweeks trying to improve efficiencies and decrease total brew day times.

    Also done today was pickles from cukes from my garden.On the left is bread and butter, center
    is refrigerator pickles and on the right is kosher dill pickles.

    I marinated a wild turkey breast in a Bock brine then cooked at 149F for 2.5hrs. and finished
    on the grill with some BBQ sauce. Served with corn, salad and an American Bitter.

    St. paddy's day came a couple days early.Crockpot corned beef and cabbage and all the fixings
    cooked in my own Gose. Turned out delish.
