  • Brewing Beginner I'd say... went in on a 5 gallon kit with a buddy and have made three batches thus far. The Scottish Ale and APA came out great and we'll see about the Belgian Strong in about a month. Can't brew often enough so I may just have to brew in larger volume. Looking to start sourcing components for a 20 gallon setup and am open to any suggestions or tips. Homebrewing is something I've wanted to do for YEARS and I am extremely excited about my new hobby.

Thanks for the input all. Added a bunch of fresh compost today and will be planting the

My hop bed is in a prime location on the south side of the barn. I end up having to weed it all

Okay, I went ahead and bought 9,000' of sisal baling twine from Farm & Fleet. $30. I'll
probably run a double strand for each run. Any concerns about putting the two strands in the
    end of a power dril...

I've got first year plants... should I train all the bines onto the twines or still just 2-3

I too like the idea of being able to compost the used twine, if not after one year then
eventually. Being as I live on a hobby farm I could use a big spool of that baling twine. Would
