  • Started brewing in the summer of 2007 with a friend. Made one bad batch then got on a good streak of nice brews. Switched to AG around January 2008 and have been doing that since then, trying to chase down some infection issues, also building a new natural gas system so brewing is on a hold for now.

    Nice testing Heritage, looks nice (though I agree, a deeper can will work better) I found
    taking a can opener to a soda can worked really well and was disposable. Soup can would work
    too.

    You could try dry heat sterilization in the oven. I'm not sure how the powder would hold up to
    the heat.Interesting, I wonder if it would darken it? (probably not a problem with an RIS
    unless it burne...

    Generally in a RIS, you can't run the risk of going "too dry" even if you try. You'll see more
    "stuck fermentations" / attenuation challenges here than anything, and sugar could help, and
