  • Still leary of home brewing so, until these first three batches are done, I'm not going any larger than 3 gallons. If these 3 batches work out, then I go to more 3 gallon containers. Eventually working up to 5 gallons.
  • Would love to try the choco-cherry mead and a pear-vanilla.

I had thought about trying the yeast again but was worried about having "dead" yeast at the
same time as putting in new yeast. Will use the hydrometer this evening.

I have a packet of Montrachet on hand. What's the difference between Montrachet, Nottingham &
S-04. Getting mixed reviews about the type of yeast to use. Told that my best bet is to use an
    Ale yeast.

Here's a question for you. Let's say that I want to start this on a much smaller scale. Say in
a 2gal fermenter. How much of each ingredient would I need?

I'm really afraid to cook the honey. What kind of pot do you cook it in that's going to be good
for the honey as well as large enough for the liquid? I've got a 2 gallon carboy that I really

:tank:I have bought a long coveted 2 gallon carboy. Now, I've got 4 batches of Mead brewing, I
figured I'd give cider a chance. I'm looking for a recipe where my primary fermenter is this 2
