The alcohol in the beer lowers the freezing point of the liquid so that, the beer should not
freeze at 28 F.I didn't even clue in on that. Thanks

The subject should say "conditioning" not fermenting, can't change it for some reason.

I grew cascade in Little Rock Arkansas, direct sun light for half the day maybe more, my cones

yep, trub loss, I lose 1/2 + gallons to trub. but I also dump my entire kettle into the
fermenter, hops, sludge and all, so I expect to lose a bit.
