- After years of drinking good Colorado microbrew I was given a treasure trove of brewing equipment from my father-in-law, who used to brew in the 90's. So for the past year my brother-in-law and myself and picked up this awesome hobby. In the past year we started with partial extract kits and have already moved on to all grain, making around 10 batches during this time.

Hot water and a tablespoon of ammonia works great also, it's also a lot cheaper.
