    ABOUT ME

  • I'm really scattered and sometimes cannot stick to a schedule to save my life. It's not uncommon for me to "Get ready to brew xxxxx" about 5 times before I actually get the brew started. Sorry to be such a flip-flopper. It's not nearly as bad now that my grain mill is motorized. Someday I'll start my first lager. Someday. --- Find me on Untappd: tehchriso

  • I started brewing in September 2007. I have brewed only all-grain beer since Batch 1. I brew only ales, since I haven't invested in temperature control yet... but I'm dying to find a chest freezer to use for a fermentation cabinet. I brew a lot of Hobgoblin... other than that, I rarely brew a beer twice. I fell away from brewing in early 2009, due to a lack of time and personal depression. I finally got my equipment sorted and cleaned in late 2011, a rudimentary brewing space set up where I can weigh and mill my grains and store my gear, and as a result, I brewed my first (returning) batch on 1/2/2012.
  • Malty Fall Ale (Faux-toberfest), Multiple Saisons, lots more Dry Stout, HBT '06 Rye IPA, more Hobgoblin, maybe a Carrot beer like RichBrewer was talking about??, maybe a Mexican Chocolate beer as well...
  • 5 gal. Tupelo Mead | 5 gal. VELMA STRIKES BACK Vienna/Belma SMaSH with 1# Munich added for extra flavor.
  • 10/2013 - Sour Dark Tripel w/ Flemish Blend yeast (59 Gal. barrel-aged group brew project)
  • Brettanomyces Raspberry 888 RIS Limited Edition - Only 5 Bottles In Existence (dumped the rest of the batch). - Tastes terrible.

I bought a 525SS to fill in the empty spot for now... but I vastly prefer the old 425SS design,
which became scarce around 2010-2011 - and would like to have all matching faucets. If you are

plastic bulkhead were ~$8.00.QD's, lines, etc. were simply stolen off of my beer fridge for the

NICE!! I didn't know the old Ventmatics had been resurrected -- I own two 425SS and was feeling
really lousy about having a single, mis-matched 525 on my fridge. Now, I can get a Ventmatic to

Thanks for clarifying!! It definitely makes sense why I should use 240 VAC to plan off of, and
accept that my actual usage may be slightly lower -- rather than planning everything to just

build + installation. I figure it's a good first step towards getting somewhere with this
    project, and it'...

About what you'd expect - bruised elbows and butt, and a sore spot where the full 5-gallon bucket slammed into my chest. But I am ridiculously clumsy (I have been falling up and down stairs since I was 10), so it was nothing new.
I was just so glad nothing bad happened to the beer!
