The slot goes into the wood it helps cut the threads. get a 3/8 16 bolt and 2 nuts. Thread the

I use a vacuum pump to transfer from fermenter to keg. I connect an ss racking cane to the
liquid post and the vacuum pump to the gas post. Works great sofar.
