    I'm pretty sure nothing would happen if you squeeze the bag. You seem to have the grain wrapped
    real tight there..I usually loosen it up to allow as much water to pass through and get the
    inner grains...

    Less water next time, or mostly cover the pot with the lid. (less heat escapes) Can even cover
    it completely to let it boil as it's probably a little easier to maintain temp than raise it.
