    ABOUT ME

  • Born and raised in the Chicago area. Have a BSS in Sociology from ISU, a BS in applied electronics from DeVry and an MBA from Keller Business School of Managed. I am married (8 years) and we have a wonderful 3 year old son. Unfortunately this will have to be our only child. I work in technology (IT stuff) and got in to brewing in 2005. My Christmas preset was my 1st home brewing kit. I saw it being done on the food channel or something and said out loud, "I've always wanted to brew my own beer but never got around to it."I now have at least 35 batches under my belt...literally and do extract, partial and all grain. I have a kegging system and my own fridge in the basement (cave).
  • Other hobbies include dad, husband and guitar player

  • Been a home brewer for over 7 years. Started with a brew pot and a bucket. Have progressed from kits to extract/partial mash to all grain.rnrnI have a couple brew pots, a 5 gallon mash tun, 4 fermentors (don't know why so many), yeast starter equipment including a stir plate and lots of misc hydrometers, thermometers, mash paddles, etc.. rnrnNow looking to build a home brew gravity stand that is affordable and can be broken down for easy storage.rnrnI prefer all grain brewing using a 5 gallon mash tun for single or double infusion mashes. rnrnI prefer Beersmith software and often brew my own recipies.
  • Just finished primary fermentation on an EPA and have one of my fruit beers in the secondary. I have an American Brown in the keg and a couple of my "out-of-style" beers in bottles.
  • Nothing on the brewing schedule for at least a month so I can work on my fermentation chiller.
  • Fruit beer.
  • I have a California Anchor Steam clone, a very sweet Jack Daniels brown and some remnants of a fruit beer (blueberry amber) in the bottles.
  • American Brown...it's yummy.
