    ABOUT ME

  • I'm a New Hampshirite and proud of it. I may be young and inexperienced, but I take that as an invitation to be able to have the time to learn. Ever since the beginning of my career in beer, I've been a what I guess people would call a beer snob. However I feel that there are worse things in life to be.
  • Outdoor stuff,camping,backpacking,hiking,longboarding,movies,fun stuff.
  • Alternative, classic rock, hip hop. An eclectic yet remarkably non-pretentious taste in music. Although that probably sounds like a pretentious thing to say.
  • V for Vendetta, Old School
  • Sons of Anarchy, The Office, 30 Rock, Arrested Development, Breaking Bad, Louie
  • Once my roommate and I turned 21, we decided to try to brew some wine that another friend had made. What we ended up making was (in the words of the illustrious proprietor of my LHBS) more like jetfuel than wine, but it got me interested in the brewing process. We bought the ingredients for a simple batch of beer using malt extracts, and I've never looked back. Although now I'm planning on branching into all-grain brewing to step up my game.
  • another batch of my recipe for coffee stout, an Imperial Stout, something Belgian, and hopefully a batch of Prickly Pear Mead despite the fact that New Hampshire isn't exactly prickly pear country
  • Coffee Stout, Kevins BFF Brown, Saison de Pipaix clone, Spritz & Bite Hefeweizen (recipe from Jasper's in Nashua, NH)
  • Male
  • Single
  • Bedford

Never had Founders, but it's on my list of things to try, although locally I only have the
Dirty Bastard, rather than the Backwoods Bastard. And I do like the idea of a scotch ale, I'll

I do like the sound of that. Gives a lot of control over the oak level as well as the bourbon
level. Do you think that bourbon would even work well at all with the IPA flavors? Or should I
    just stick ...

So if anyone is still subscribed to this, I'm thinking about making an imperial IPA with
bourbon and oak cubes. Judging from this, my first thoughts are of taking a jar and using 2 oz
    of oak cubes and...

802 (for the Vermont zip code). I find that this and the Crisp are probably two of their better
ones. They're a little less syrupy, and a friend mentioned that he enjoys a Crisp with a shot

Magner's is pretty good. I had that while in Ireland as well as Bulmer's, and I thought Magners
was better. However I opened up a bottle at Thanksgiving to share with my family and they all
    hated it. ...

Maybe it's just me, but I feel like Woodchuck is a long way from what I think a cider should
be. I've tried a few other ciders over the years, and so far Woodchuck is pretty much at the
    bottom of my l...

So I know that Woodchuck is a successful company and all, but I want to know how people that
actually know what good beer and such think of it. The sales can't mean everything, I mean Bud
