The 20 gallon kettle weighs roughly 30 lbs. There is a good amount of heat that channels
through the vents, but overall no more or less heat that is thrown off from a burner with a
standard kettle on ...

We did the ones for the boil. Medium high heat. Constant movement. As soon as they started to
smoke (really just a wisp) we pulled them off and put them into a room temp bowl. They won't

You can just wrap them in pipe insulation - it's like a foam wrap for copper pipes. What's the
total length of tubing the beer goes through? I agree with Kristi - go as low as you can

I just hose the inside with the ball valve open. The tubes for the manometer come out easily
and are reinserted easily. You can turn it on it's side for a final rinse, then tip it up to
drain the rest...

Is the line insulated the entire length? I think your issue is that the lines are getting too
warm. Unless I misunderstood and they are in the cool space the entire time.

How heavy is the 20 gallon version? Also, will there be a lot of heat wash in the front? I.e.
Will heat shields be needed for the valve and accessories?
