Hello,I took my brewpot off the shelf today and it appears that it has a lot of rust.I have a
few questions,Is there any way to salvage this thing? Can I still brew with it? How can I
prevent this in ...Posted in thread: Airlock question on 05-27-2009 at 03:03 AM
Do you have any tubing? If so I'd try and rig up a blow off tube. Otherwise I would just put
the cap on the airlock and use it like normal. Unfortunately you won't be able to see any
bubble though. Ho...Posted in thread: Wood Chips on 05-25-2009 at 05:22 PM
I only boiled them for five minutes or so in purified water. Unfortunately I didn't know about
the microfilm bag. The thin film that I am talking about sinks when I move the carboy and
eventually floa...Posted in thread: Wood Chips on 05-25-2009 at 04:53 PM
I added wood chips and hops to an IPA in secondary about 5 days ago. Now there are chunks
floating in it and a creamy looking substance covering the top. I don't think the chunks are
pieces of the woo...Posted in thread: Carbonation? on 05-21-2009 at 10:35 AM

You guys don't feel that a malty or really malty and strong (dopplebock, wee heavy) just go
better in the winter than summer?I agree. Getting off the lawn mower on a hot day and then
drinking a stout ...Posted in thread: Glass carboy for primary fermenting? on 05-08-2009 at 04:49 AM
I don't think you run any more of a risk of blow off by using a carboy instead of an ale pail.

Maybe I am misunderstanding, but your kit came with a bottle filler that doesn't fit? If this
is the case, what you probably need to do is cut off a bit of your siphoning tub and attach one
end to the...Posted in thread: S-shaped vs 3-piece airlock on 05-08-2009 at 02:15 AM
Advantages? Although I'm new to brewing I have some expertise in this area. The S airlock is
