One of my teachers turned me onto home brewing back in June 2007 and I've been hooked ever since. We've brewed over 200 gallons of beer and cider, five gallons at a time, and have found great success with all-grain brewing. My operation is the basic glass carboys and kegs at this point, but I'm in it for the fun and flavor regardless of the work. Regardless of the weather, we'll be eating, drinking, and enjoying life right in my own three car garage.
Join us!! - Time to do some lagering! I've only had the pleasure of doing two lagers, but they both turned out fine. Being able to do this opens a whole new land of home brewing that I plan to explore.
- There's always two or three primaries hanging in my SCUBA closet.
- Going to keep skipping the secondary and moving straight to the keg....unless I need to age it like my Scotch Ale sitting in the closet.
- I only bottle enough from the keg to share with other people.
- Six kegs ready to drink. I want to move up to eight full kegs on a regular basis and a collar for my chest freezer.

I checked on my fermenting dunkelweizen and the airlock and bung blew off the top. It had been

It does seem like you're getting more from the Bell's kit...which is hard for me to say since I
know the Learn to Brew guys. I think most people on this site would suggest trying to go with a
kit that...Posted in thread: Fermentation Question on 07-20-2011 at 01:15 PM
Sounds like you're ready to move forward. Remember, just because there isn't airlock activity
doesn't mean that fermentation isn't taking place....just look at your hydrometer readings.

I checked out the Thrumometer....and I like it!! That might be the way to go.Posted in thread: wort temp using a plate chiller on 05-08-2011 at 01:46 PM
Hey everyone!I was using my plate chiller at Big Brew Day yesterday and someone asked me how I
checked the temperature of my wort when I was tranferring it into my carboy. I never really
thought about...Posted in thread: Gassed up on 02-19-2011 at 12:38 AM
Greetings!I'm still having some difficulty with the nuances of proper carbonating in the keg.
How do you gas up your kegs (what PSI, for how long) to get your beer to the right carbonation
level?Posted in thread: What level are you? on 10-19-2009 at 02:38 AM
Equipment has nothing to do with the level of ones experience.I disagree with this statement. I
think it takes experience to properly utilize certain pieces of equipment. Also, there are
people who ha...
