Ouch, Is that NB's Dry Irish? I made one in Nov. that was excellent. A bit more hop bitterness
in mine do to a no chill hop utilization miscalculation, but a lovely brew indeed. Hope the
    re-brew went ...

A scoop in a sink full sounds reasonable, scrub that gunk off and bottle that delicious brew.

  • Posted in thread: anyone done a brew in a bag on 09-24-2012 at 12:52 AM
I'd do a one hour mash at a temp that suits the beer style, followed by one hour boil or 90
minutes for wheat. The water volume depends on your equipment loss and method of removing water
    from grain b...

Dang just remembered, put the beer in the fermenter and forgot to pitch the yeast...This just
keeps getting better and better.I use a nice rolling boil, but when using wheat I boil hotter

When brewing a kit, I am aiming to duplicate the intended beer mostly to test my own process.
That being said, I do believe in creative brewing, and after tasting the finished brew I may
    wish to make ...

I must agree. Taste it as often as you can, get familiar with the smells and looks of the
fermentation as well. Just keep your equipment sanitized, I use a wine thief and I love to
    observe my beer. I ...

  • Posted in thread: is it possible i made low to non alcoholic beer? on 09-23-2012 at 11:22 PM
I heard (on a pod cast) it was tough to make a great tasting, low alcohol beer, that you really
have to be on your game to do so. Congrats, you either made a cool mistake or your tolerance is
    way up. ...

Did you have an equipment change? Any change in pre boil collection volume? If no to both, I
would assume the boil ran hotter than last time causing the loss. Hop utilization and malt
    profile may be o...

Can you get at it with a bottle brush? What ratio oxy to water was used? I'd probably try hard
to get that off first by rinsing and scrubbing, then do star san.
