I have a 2L flask that I make my starters out of. I've made quite a few 1.5L and even one other
2L in that. Never with a problem. Well I did a 2L with WLP001 and the krausen was intense. I
    kept a good...

I know, both great tips. I couldn't find my spray bottle I normally use, and why didn't I just
dip.... who knows. But they made it anyway. Woke up this morning and everything looks good.

Can't believe what I just did. I was sanitizing everything and my sanitizing water was probably
    145. That's what comes out of my sink. I threw my Wyeast packet in there just to sanatize the

If it was not possible to stay up and finish, then I would get it boil ready and put a lid on
it. Mashing overnight might cause, I wont say bad, but unexpected results.

  • Posted in thread: So who's brewing this weekend? on 03-24-2014 at 05:00 PM
Very happy to say that I will be home Wed. and brewing this coming weekend. I'm doing The
Number 8 from NB. Belgian Dark Strong, AG recipe. I've never done a Belgian before, so I'm
    pretty hyped.

Great article fearwig. I agree with everyone one here on the husks and all. I honestly wont
change my practice either, as I haven't been having issues. But definitely some good food for
    thought. Sent ...

Subscribing to this... That thing will be a beast. As far as adding the water, just my opinion,
but I'd let it ride and see what happens. The extra yeast is a must though. Maybe even get a 2L
    starter ...

Yea, Unless your grains weren't crushed (which I'm sure they were if you got it at your LHBS)
the extra water sounds like the issue.Im guessing you've already got it in the fermenter?? If
    so, you'll h...
