  • I started getting a taste for craft beer earlier this year and since I live in Little Rock, AR where there is just about zero good craft beer distributed, I figured why not make my own.

    I would personally get 2 or 3 pie pumpkins (the small ones, don't brew with Jack-o-lantern
    pumpkins) Clean them, cut into pieces, put them on a baking sheet skin down, flesh up and roast
    @ 350 for 60 ...

    I did, came out at 1010 so I hit my FG. The wort also tasted very good so Im going to chalk

    Yes its worth it. The long stem is brilliant, a 60 second hit of oxygen in a 6.5G carboy
    compared to splashing, pouring from one bucket to another, or using an aquarium pump is the

    I just kind of mixed together the best info from Denny,Jamil,Palmer and mash in at
    1.25/qt:pound + absorption amount + tun dead space, stir/mix thoroughly and let sit an hour.
    Recirc and collect. Next...
