- Watched the Good Eats Episode, and decided one day I'd look into doing a home brew. Turns out next day I was bored and found out there was a LHBS three blocks down from my apartment and since then I've been hooked. I've been doing extract batches but about to move into partial mashes.

Thats why you can't go wrong with the digital remote probe style thermometers! Just loop the
cord around a handle and have it dangling in the wort so the whole probe doesn't get submerged.
