  • I got into homebrewing when I made a beer out of my great-grandmother's open-crock recipe. Currently running with 2 6-gal better bottles and 2 5-gal Glass carboys. Danby Keggerator for Lagering amd 1 corny. I prefer to bottle with swingtops.

    what's all this "I did a taste" what ever you taste prior to three weeks in a bottle means
    diddly squat ! Annalise the recipe that's the taste, brew accordingly , and that's what you get
    or some thing...

    It can take a week or two for the krausen (thick sludge on top of beer) to fall out of
    suspension. Sometimes longer. Just be patient and let the beer sit. :)

    What's up with the Hazmat charge? Co2 is inert and you aren't mixing gasses. I pay $7.50 for
    mine every time I fill up.

    4 weeks to fill a tank? See if your nearest welding supply company can do you a 70/25% mix of
    Nitro and Co2. It literally takes me 5 minutes from when I give them my tank outside to when I
    pay for it ...

    I don't have any in's on the malting industry. I'm fine with a LBS coordinating the buy if
