    ABOUT ME

  • I just got into home brewing in late 2011. My cousin is an avid home brewer and he introduced me to the hobby. I use a 6.5 gallon bucket for the primary and 5 gallon plastic carboy for my secondary. I also use a 6 gallon brew pot to prevent boil overs.

So I just cracked open my 1st sample of KBBA clone after being in bottles for 3 weeks. OMG its
just about perfect spot on to the original. Maybe it'll get better with age but I love it the
    way it is n...

Thanks for the feedback, it's my attempt at a bourbon ale. The fg should have been 1.016 as
assumed. It's sitting on some charred oak chips that were soaked in bourbon.

Quentin,Did you make a decision on how you want too add the raspberry flavor to your wheat
beer? I used real fruit in the primary after 1 week and now racked to a secondary 1 week after
    adding the fru...

I agree with the previous posts, dumping the beer should be a last resort. Kit timelines show
the shortest possible fermentation time. Use a hydrometer to determine if it's done. Also dry
    hopping can ...

I currently have a similar recipe going but with dry us wb 06 yeast which gave the base beer
more of a hefe taste. Be sure to factor the size of your secondary in your plans if that is
    where you plan ...

Yeah, my wife has said I never clean the house as well as I have been cleaning the beer
equipment. It's been a blast so far and its helping me develop patience.

I just took a hydro reading and it was 1.012 so well on its way. I guess I just need to relax
    and trust in my work.

This is my 4 th extract and it's been 72 hours since pitching an no airlock activity. I
understand that a hydrometer is the only true indication of fermentation. I assume fermentation
    has started but ...
