  • Posted in thread: Whats the most expensive batch you have brewed? on 05-04-2012 at 05:38 PM
My first RIS was the Old Rasputin clone published in BYO. $77 for 5 gallon batch and worth

  • Posted in thread: no-weld valves on aluminum bk? on 05-04-2012 at 05:34 PM
I put one in a 30 qt turkey fryer pot. Worked just fine and that's a thin gauge aluminum.

  • Posted in thread: 5gal Mash Tun? on 03-28-2012 at 06:23 PM
My first was a 5 gal rubbermaid cooler. It did just fine for regular beers although it is a bit

between 2.4 and 2.6 vol of co2 in 5 gal of beer. Definitely boil the water for 10 min or so
    then add it to t...

  • Posted in thread: Recommend an Extract RIS worth trying? on 01-02-2012 at 06:21 AM
Look up the old Rasputin clone that byo did. It is extract and the beer is good. I haven't made
it yet but scheduled to this week.

  • Posted in thread: Iodine water got in my carboy. Now what? on 01-02-2012 at 01:13 AM
It 's fine. Don't panic. Iodine can be uses to kill nasties in water backpacking in the outmost
regions. Not going ti kill you or anybody who drinks it. Might be an off flavor bit with that
    little amo...
