  • I am an infant when it comes to home brewing as I have much to learn.
I started at a very young age with the home brewing. I was busted at the age of 12 when my mom found a crock pot full of a smelly fermented concoction I made out of canned corn, sugar, yeast and water. I had created something and my interests were peaked.
My brother had home brewed many years after that, (We come from a long line of home brewers, wine makers, and moonshiners) and I was again intrigued by this craft.
As the years rolled on, I thought about one day crafting my own beer. After some involvement with some friends who home brewed, I knew my chances were now or never. In 2009 I started brewing on my own which led me straight to All Grain brewing. I've made some good beer this past year, and I've made some bad.
I've worked most of the winter building my own brew rig (Brutus Ten!). I'm almost done, and I cannot wait to start brewing again.

I didn't make a starter in either case and realize it is a good idea but, it is not critical.
This can be debated all day I know but, I should have seen at least some sort of activity. I
    got them all ...

I had the same issue with London Ale yeast. Brewed on Monday and 72 hours later still nothing.
This is the second batch I have lost in a row. Both times I used Wyeast London Ale and Wyeast
    Czech Pils....

I have the same problem and was wondering the same thing about the heat loss in the hoses. In
Lonnie's Brutus Ten 1 video I noticed that he isn't recirculating during the mash at all. At
    least during ...

I've seen people paint their fridges and freezers with chalkboard paint (available at Homer
Depot and Lowes). I plan on doing this when I get a chance. That way I can just write what I
    have on tap on ...
